Desktop

ArcGIS DesktopArcMapLocation Referencing has the same system requirements as ArcGIS Desktop and requires the same release of ArcGIS Desktop with the ArcGIS Desktop Standard or ArcGIS Desktop Advanced license level.

ArcGIS Desktop ArcGIS ProLocation Referencing functionality is installed natively as an extension to ArcGIS Pro. The extension requires the Location Referencing extension license and ArcGIS Desktop Standard or ArcGIS Desktop Advanced license level.

Server

Location Referencing, ArcGIS Roads and Highways Server—Has the same system requirements as ArcGIS Server.

Location Referencing, ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing Server—Has the same system requirements as ArcGIS Server.

ArcGIS Server, Location Referencing—The services used with ArcGIS Pro are installed natively with ArcGIS Server.

Web apps

Pipeline Referencing

ArcGIS Event Editor

Event Editor requires a web map from a service with the linear referencing capability enabled hosted in either Portal for ArcGIS or ArcGIS Online.

ArcGIS Roadway Reporter

Roadway Reporter requires a web map from a service with the linear referencing capability enabled hosted in either Portal for ArcGIS or ArcGIS Online. This service (and the geoprocessing service required by Roadway Reporter) must be published using ArcMap.
